Jerusalem

Read Psalm 87:1-3 "He (God) has set His foundation on the holy mountain; the LORD loves the gates of Zion...." We left Jerusalem today with this site. It has been a wonderful five days spent here. You could spend months and not see or comprehend everything that took place here. I suppose I will have to come back! Would you like to come?
[Remember you can click on the picture to make it larger. Ctrl - will make it smaller.] Center left is the "Dome of the Rock" (gold dome of a mosque). This is near the place where the Temple stood. To the right is the Kidron Valley across which you go to the Mt. of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. I hate to say goodbye but we must move on south. Tomorrow is a rest day. I must say, "a rest day will be greatly favored! You are ALL in my prayers! Signing off from Ein Bokek, Dead Sea, at the "Le Meridien Hotel."

The Holy Sepulchre

John 19:17-27
There are two sites where it is believed Jesus could have been sacrificed as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. One such site is the "Holy Sepulchre" which houses the supposed crucifixion site, anointing site, and the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. In this site the cross was planted under this altar. The altar of Jesus was, of course, the Cross of Calvary. The other site is shown in the next picture.

The Place of the Crucifixion of our Lord: Golgotha

Read Matthew 27:32-44. What do you see looking at you? On Calvary, Skull Hill. or Golgotha Jesus crushed the head of satan (Genesis 3:15). This site is located just outside of the Damacus Gate. This is how I imagined the site to be like, but my imagination doesn't make it true. This is located where a quarry was abandoned that had been used to refurbish and enlarge the second Temple by King Herod.

A Glimpse of Tomorrow's Visits

Tonight 3 of us went to the Old
City. This is one place we visited.
December 11th's Agenda: Visit Haas Promenade for overview including UN Compound. Lion’s Gate, Fortress of Antonia, Via Dolorosa until the Church of the Holy Seplechre, Upper Room. Rock Jesus Prayed On

Read Luke 22:39-46.
This is "believed" to be the
rock on which Jesus prayed
in the Garden of Gethsemane.
He prayed so fervently that drops
of blood came from his brow.
How fervently do you pray?

Jerusalem Viewed from Mt. of Olives

Read Genesis 22:1-19, 14:1-5, and Revelation 21:15-17. As I scan the city note the pines. This is the temple mount which is 144,000 square.... Could that be coincidence when placed next to the two Revelation passages. That is God's new Jerusalem and His children. Where the "Dome of the Rock" is is also known at "Mt. Moriah" and believed also to be the place of Abraham's scrafice of the unblemished lamb God provided. Left of the city is a building with a gray dome/roof which is "Caiaphas' House" under which is the dungeon in the next video.

Wailing Wall A/K/A West Wall

Luke 19:41-44.
This is located just below the
Dome of the Rock or The Temple
Mount. It was the only thing remaining
when Jerusalem was destroy in 70AD.
Remember. I prayed at the wall
that those praying there would know
their Lord and that there would be
peace in the world, that the Lord would
come, and for you as we are apart from
one another.

Garden of Gethsemane

Read Matthew 26:36-56
This Olive tree may have
see Jesus on several occasions
as he went to pray as it is
estimated to be 2,000 years old.
We took in so much today I don't
have a clue if my brain can disseminate
all information we received. It was
unbelieveable as we started on the
Mount of Olives.

Camel Shadow

The center picture is me.
You can see I'm taking a
picture. This was my best
camel picture. What a creature
God created for this place.
Almost looks like the Magi
(Matthew 2) coming. No, I'm
not wise. This was not far from
Jericho and Jesursalem.
